The Mediterrane Source

Only top quality grapes make good wine. Simple. We source grapes for our Mediterrane blend from a few select vineyards prized for their low yield, low intervention management and from the clones of each grape that will deliver the best result.

Our Sangiovese predominantly comes from a mature Barossa floor vineyard planted to the best variety of Sangiovese, the Brunello clone, famed for producing the great wines of the small DOCG zone of Montalcino, in southern Tuscany – the great Brunello di Montalcino.

The other usual part of the blend comes from superb old-vines Merlot in the Eden Valley, up behind the Barossa. Between them, these give us the combo of Sangiovese’s cherry fruit characters, smokiness and firm savoury finish, which is enriched by the texture and plumminess of Merlot.

We reckon we have it about spot-on with this latest release of 2016 vintage Mediterrane. What do you think?
